It has been 4 years already. We love these two with all our heart. Absolutely blessed to have C&C in our lives and are content with two kids.
I baked them their birthday cakes this time! (We had been watching a lot of cake making and decorating prior to their birthday). A castle cake for school celebration and a doll cake for family celebration. For the cake recipe, I followed our favourite youtube baker “How to cake it”. I love her chocolate cake. As for the buttercream, I did an italian meringue buttercream, also adapted from How to cake it. Sugar was reduced in both recipes.
I have never baked anything like these before, so I am proud of my cakes :) It took me 3 tries before I nailed the crown (what worked was a mixture of fondant and gum powder and let it dry outside in room temperature rather than inside the fridge).
Cakes were baked a few days before the event and well kept inside the fridge.
A week after their birthday, we celebrated with family. I made a doll cake, Ana from Frozen cartoon.
After their birthday, they asked me to bake exactly the same cake for their 5th birthday :)
My parents just came to Singapore and we just came back from a big family getway to Port Dickson, Malaysia.
Our car isn’t in a good condition to drive for 4 hours, so we hired a driver from “Let’s Jalan Jalan”.
We stayed at Lexis Hibiscus
The private 1.2m pool next to the bathroom was superb. Kids took it as a huge bathtub — swimming first thing when they woke up and at 10pm before bedtime was the norm ;)

The resort has an indoor and an outdoor playgound. Their indoor playground is chargeable (Rm20 per kid per hour). Brought the kids there everyday to play for an hour.
Their outdoor playground was fun too!
Their gymnasium wasn’t impressive though — small with very few equipment!
It rained very early in the morning and at night
Some of the rooms will face other water chalets, like the one below.
At the sky lounge after dinner
So tired after lots of playing
Relaxing in the pool
My busiest time of the year is over. What a relief! Now I’m looking forward to our two upcoming trips — one in July with my whole family to Port Dickson and another longer trip (2 weeks) in September to the land of Koalas with hubby, the girls and my parents!
What have we been up to?
We went for a short getaway in Johor a few weeks ago to celebrate hubby’s birthday. Drove to Gunung Pulai and hiked a quarter up.
We also went to Disney on Ice show when they came to Singapore. Girls loved it.
We renewed our zoo yearly membership pass
Gotta make full use of it now!
The girls had a mini school project to do at home with the help of the parents. They chose an electric heater and an oven.
I travelled to Kuala Lumpur and missed my flight back! Had to purchase another air ticket (whatever that was available). Oman air it was! My first time travelling on this airline.
The girls (and so am I) are really into “how to cake it” youtube videos (we have watched all her videos and look forward to new videos every week). They also enjoy watching kids cooking/baking channel and wanted to make popsicles after watching an episode on how to make fruit popsicles.
We ‘baked’ chocolate cake in this pan too
The other day we went to East Coast beach and there was this sand ‘hill’
Chalene was down with fever the other day. We stayed home and kept her busy with some painting.
We celebrated daddy’s birthday
We went prawning and daddy caught a prawn after 1 long hour ?
We swam in the river
We had fun at the water park
Well if you are still visiting this page, thanks for sticking around!
So what’s new?
The kidos started ballet just over 2 weeks ago and they are enjoying it.
We were in China for 2 weeks in Sep/Oct — visited Inner Mongolia and Beijing. It was quite a fun and challenging adventure for our little family.
More details of our China Adventures in another blog pospost
Celebrated my niece and nephew’s birthday
Whose feet are these? Certainly not mine :) Well I have a new nephew!
The girls are still crazy about egg surprises. Guess what. I’m gonna give the lots of egg surprises for their birthday next month. 50 eggs maybe #crazy
Yes my babies are turning 3 next month.
