Did you watch the exciting 100m Final? New World Record set by Jamaican, Usain Bolt - 100m in 9.69 seconds. I was kinda sad that Tyson Gay didn’t qualify for the Finals and Asafa Powell came in 5th. Women 100m Final was another exciting race. Top 3 are Jamaicans hehe. My favourite was Muna Lee from the States.
And did you watch the 200m Heat and Quarter-Final today? Mauritian athlete, Stephan Buckland, is qualified for the 200m Semi-Final. Also, Bruno Julie, beats Venezuela’s Hector Manzanilla in the boxing tournament quarterfinals to clinch the first Olympic medal for Mauritius! Allez maurice!

Morning run on Saturday, followed by lunch with sis & Jon at Sakae Sushi. Slept the whole afternoon. Watched “cloverfield” at Bedok cinema — think it’s the cheapest, but one of the oldest cinema in Singapore (tickets at just $7 instead of $9 per adult during the weekend) in the evening. “Cloverfield” is one of the worst movies we’ve seen. The movie is similar to “The Blair Witch Project” i.e the actors run for their lives under the eye of a shaky hand-held camera. We had motion sickness and were both disappointed with the movie especially the way it ended. Kinda incomplete ending I think. Had a yummy curry fish head for supper!
Gym on Sunday morning. My BB Bench press was increased to 30kg (6 reps x 5 sets) with dar assisting me. As for my BB half squat, I just did 1 set of 60kg before I decided to reduce to 50kg and 40kg (with more reps). Dar wasn’t too happy with my decision as it was meant to be a power workout. Then with the machine: hamstring, back raise, calf raise etc. I prefer working with free weights because some of the machines are too complicated and aren’t comfortable to use. I ended with a 2.4km run at the stadium track under the hot sun because the gym’s treadmills were all in use.
Attended my colleague’s wedding on Sunday evening. Here are some pics. More in my flickr (private) and facebook.

Christmas was spent at home. I think every year I spend my Christmas at home with my family and to me that’s how it should be spent… with the family and loved ones! Christmas eve was just between the boy and I — well, we didn’t do much. We bought some normal food, ate, watched TV (been watching the Travel & Living channel more often lately — I like their “Christmas Special”), played games on play station and slept way before the stroke of midnight!! Yeah can you believe!?! We were both oh so tired.
This morning (on Christmas day) my alarm rang at 7am. It was time for a morning workout. The boy also woke up and came with me to the stadium. I did my second 5km time trial run on track (my first was last week). This time I ran in 22:55, about 30 seconds of improvement hehe. My body still ached from Sunday’s weight training. Tomorrow’s just gonna be some light 1km interval.
And as we walked back home hand in hand we stopped for a while…
“I love you”
“I love you”
*grin*
Merry Christmas
*smile*
Once again the boy and I — and of course my fatty cat — wish you a Merry Merry Christmas!!!!!!!

This pic was taken after he’s smashed played with a cockroach and I managd to video it. Video soon.

[Edit] - Met sis, bro and in-laws this afternoon.

It’s been a year since I started running in my Adizero CS shoes. It was time to get a new pair of shoes (see how old and ugly it has become?). I chose an Adizero CS again. Yep I like this model. I had a foot analysis last year and I was told that I have a neutral left foot and a right fore / mid foot strike type. My right leg pronates a little bit too.

I’ve been quite in the mood for running lately. Went to Yishun this morning and I did my own run while dar was coaching SprintDynamic athletes. I disappeared from Saturday’s centralised training for almost a year and wow there are many new faces now.

“Tonight we train at 7pm. See you at home.”
The boy sms-ed me this afternoon. My last run was 11 days ago. It’s become a bad habit. We start, we stop and then we start running again.
We started with a warm up session. I felt my muscle capillaries expanding as I warmed up. The itch went away soon after. Today we did 4 x 1km. He did his at his own pace and I did mine at my own pace, which was 4.27, 4.23, 4.17 and 4.15 per km. I haven’t done 1km interval for ages. Thank God I finished all sets. Once again I’m satisfied.

I managed to do 3 4 cardio sessions this week in the early AM/PM. Feels good to feel my heart pumping hard after each set.

Today marks the 4th week of my 3-month fitness and diet goal. My goals are simple: Just do regular runs, no more late night suppers (e.g order MacDonald @ 1am or buy fried spring chicken from the 24hr coffee shops that are just opposite my block) and to consume more fruits … Speaking of fruits, I still haven’t eaten the two kiwis & pears that my parents had left for me since last week! At times I don’t feel like eating fruits. Maybe I’m too lazy to peel them …
