This week is exam week, hence I’ve been busy with revision and with some freelance stuffs. So how are my days like nowadays… I try to wake up at around 7am and go for a morning jog. Waking up late would shorten the day and make me feel even more lazy. So yeah it’s better to be a morning person. After I come back we’d have breakfast in the balcony if he hasn’t gone to work yet. Else it’s breakfast alone with my cat hehe. I love the fresh morning air. Morning is usually pretty short. Sometimes I’d study in the room with the TV on from time to time, sometimes it’s in the balcony. It all depends on my mood and on the weather. I take a nap in the afternoon, then starts preparing dinner after I wake up. Yeah I try to cook everyday. I love watching those recipe shows — Jamie Oliver, Nigella, Food 911, Take Home Chef etc etc.
I don’t think I posted pix of the new place yet. So here are some. We moved in about a month ago. The curtains were not yet installed at the time those pictures were taken. Friends asked me how married life is. Well it’s great, so far everything is good!

We went to HDB Hub this morning to sign the agreement of lease and collect our house keys! I’ve lived in the West for 5 years, East for 1 year and now (soon) I’m gonna live in the North. We opened the doors of our new house soon after getting the keys. Our interior designer came to help us inspect the new place for defects. We found a few defects — the skirting wasn’t done properly and some stuffs like the door stopper and window screws were a little rusty. The master bedroom’s toilet door and the study room’s windows can’t close properly. Some of the window rubbers were also too short. We are submitting the defect list on Monday. Renovation can start on the first second week of March (hdb told us that it will take 2 weeks to rectify the defects).

We have just received a letter from HDB informing us that we can collect our house keys next week!!
We booked the flat almost 8 months ago and we are finally getting the keys. I’m excited! Unfortunately renovation won’t be completed by 14th March. I’m hoping we can move in by end of March, although the chances are pretty slim. Fingers crossed.

If I’d engaged a contractor instead of an Interior Designer, I would have considered these following designs. They are nice, simple and elegant.

One single door, as large as the facade of the unit, with a perfectly smooth surface, only occasionally interrupted, in an apparently random sequence, by wide square openings. With a simple movement, the door slides until it partially juts out from the side of the unit. In one simple gesture, surprisingly the view changes completely: books disappear, while objects previously hidden are unveiled (tableware, vases, other books or many other objects that we wish to hide away). On/Off, open/closed, inside /outside… Blitz! A brief intriguing door movement creates not only a new and different piece of furniture, but reverses its function: when closed seems to be a shelving or display unit, when opened offers the storage capacity of a sideboard. Finishes: Structure matt lacquered white or black. Door in wood matt lacquered white or black or in glossy SetapanĀ® white or black. SetapanĀ® is an innovative high quality material made of massive acrylic coloured inside and with glossy surfaces. Resistant against scratches, UV rays, it can be repaired in case of rifling and it is fully recyclable at the end of its use. Design: Lodovico Acerbis Manufacturer: Acerbis International

This Multi-functional shelf design by Yoon-Zee Kim is a playful and creative piece of furniture. It could be a simple funky shelving or a seating and a desk.
