A typical day
It’s hard to get a picture while they are smiling but I managed to snap these the other day :) Always warm my heart when I see them smile!

We started not long ago a routine with the girls. This is what have been like for the past couple of weeks. Sometimes the time is a bit earlier or a bit later.
7.00 am: The girls wake up. We feed them, wash their faces and change their diapers. Then we play with them a little. This is their morning ritual.

Their playmat and cot mobile (video below) can entertain them for just a couple of minutes. Ah they are also fascinated by shadows on wall and ceiling.
8.00 am: After about an hour since waking up, they start to yawn and are not so interested in playing anymore. I stop all activities and make them nap. We carry and walk them around (they like the motion) till they start closing their eyes. Ninety percent of the time they would wake up within minutes after putting them back into their cot for a nap. However, the swing and pacifier do help them to nap longer. While they nap, I do my stuffs – shower, eat breakfast, wash and sterilise bottles, do the laundry (if any) etc.
11.00 am: Feed them and the same cycle as above. Sometimes we go to the mall because it gets boring at home. We spend most of the day in the living room. The TV is on most of the time and I’m back to watching food channels again – I stopped during my pregnancy as I felt nauseous when I watched people cook!
3.00 pm: Feed them, entertain them … they take short naps here and there.
6.00 pm: “What time is it? It’s bathing time!”. I always say this out loud to them in an exciting tone. I bathe one at a time, change them into a new set of clothes, wash their faces, apply some baby lotion and baby powder. I give them the pacifier in case they fuss (because they want to be carried) while I shower and eat my dinner.

7.00 pm: It is their evening feed. We try to make them sleep after this feed but most of the time they don’t. So we carry them and tone down everything – no playing, lower the volume on TV, dim the lights etc.
9.00 pm: It is their last feed before their long stretch of sleep.
10.00 pm: They usually sleep after their 9 pm feed. They fall asleep by 10.30 pm but sometimes (Chantel especially) they are wide awake till midnight! Most of the time they sleep till around 3.30 am. Last night Chalene slept from 10 pm till 4.30 am whereas Chantel slept from 10 pm till 2.30 am. To me this is considered a good night Their night patterns are unpredictable but I am hoping that one day they both can sleep through the night. We go to bed soon after both girls have slept.
3.30 am: They wake up at around this time for a night feed. We don’t co-sleep but we can hear them cry when they wake up at night – their room is beside ours. Most of the time they sleep immediately after this feed and I go back to sleep too!
7.00 am: They wake up and it is the start of a brand new day aaaaand the cycle repeats hehe.
So this is what a typical day of mine with two 2.5 month old twins looks like. I get an average of 5-6 hours of sleep everyday which is great.
