A +ve update after months

Thought of checking in and giving you some updates after half a year!

Well, a lot  happened in the past 6 months but the best thing was to see this +ve on an early morning.

And we are having twins girls!

The first trimester wasn’t a very smooth one. There was nausea, gastric pain and urinary tract infection (once). The scariest moment though, was the bleeding scare.  It happened twice. So I was ordered bed rest — stayed at home for almost a month.

Nausea and gastric pain kicked in around week 6. I could only eat carbs. It’s funny because prior to getting pregnant, I wasn’t eating a lot of them.  In the first trimester, I could go a few days eating baked potatoes every day, then my palate would shift to bread &  ’anchor’ butter, then to roti prata, then to rice & corn soup. I couldn’t eat meat and vegetables. I looooved mangoes though.  I lost about 4 kg in the first trimester due to loss of appetite and not being able to keep the food down. The nausea and vomiting really made me feel miserable.

Soon after I entered my 2nd trimester, my appetite came back and all the nausea was gone. It felt so so good to be myself again. They say that the 2nd trimester is the best one and it’s true. I am back to cooking almost everyday. I love my salads again. I can eat meat again.

I am currently 5 months pregnant …

I had a detailed ultra sound yesterday (week 19 + 6). Twin A was measuring at 12 oz (347g) and twin B at 13 oz (357g). According to this website, they are on track (well, maybe slightly bigger haa). It’s awesome to feel them kick :)
