Saturday 20-03-10
Evening everyone! How was your Saturday?
I started my day at 7.30 am with a lovely 4 km run in the cool weather. Soon after I was done, it started to pour heavily and it did not stop until late afternoon!
Side Note: I realised that I’ve never blogged about my 2009 OZ Trip. It was always in my draft. Well you can find it here now. More pictures in my Facebook too. If you are my blog reader and want to add me, please send me a message and tell me that you are one of the readers as I do not add people who I don’t know.

Look what I made this morning … some yummy microwaved eggs as part of breakfast

I think microwaved eggs are way faster to prepare

I reached work around 10.30 am, got some work done and by 1 pm I was already on my way back home. My colleague gave me a ride back. Lunch was eaten a bit later than usual. Part of it was Brussels Sprouts with lemon honey mustard sauce. It is my first time eating Brussels sprouts :) I bought a frozen packet at Carrefour months ago and I did not open it until now.

Brussels Sprouts with lemon honey mustard sauce.
Ingredients (serves 1)
- 2 cups frozen (or fresh) brussels sprouts
- Garlic
- 1 tbsp butter or olive oil
- Pinch of salt
- Nuts (optional but preferably pine nuts)
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1 tbsp Dijon mustard sauce
- 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
Method: Mix honey, mustard and lemon juice together. Set aside. In a pan, melt butter over moderate heat and cook garlic, stirring, until pale golden. Add the brussels sprouts and sprinkle with nuts and salt to taste. Cook sprouts until crisp-tender and undersides are golden brown, about 10 minutes. Transfer to a plate. Pour the honey mustard sauce over the cooked sprouts. Serve immediately.
I love homemade honey Dijon mustard sauce :)

After lunch I spent pretty much of my time relaxing in front of the TV or computer and playing with the cats. For dinner, the husband brought back these.
Fried stuffs (prawn filling). This thing was good!

Belachan sweet potato leaves – one of my favourite

And Curry Fish Head. We always have this once a week.

We ate everything :)

@ Evan
Yea usually once a week (unless we dine out), usually during weekend. Can’t eat this often primarily because it’s not the healthiest thing (especially the gravy which I always can’t stop drinking (yes sometimes I kind of drink it! lol) once I start.
I think the one opposite my place is around the same price too. He doesn’t really like to tell me the price of food that he buys because I will complain how expensive it is and “I can cook this or that for less than 10 bucks” hahha :D
Have you been to “Kopi Tiam” at Swisshotel that sells typical local dishes? Their curry fish head is the most expensive one I’ve ever had! $40 or $50 I think for a small portion! Won’t go there again! Can get much better and cheaper local dishes at other places.
