Weekend getaway with the family (1)
We went for a short trip to Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) during the weekend. My brother & sis-in-law wanted to watch the Manchester United match, my mum & aunt wanted to shop, the husband wanted to go to Cosmo’s World theme park, and as for me I didn’t have any particular plan other than just wanting to go on a short trip and spend time with the family.

Let’s go back to Friday shall we?
We left Singapore on Friday at different times. The husband and I took the bus in the evening. We took Grandland Express bus (which we had booked a few weeks ago) to KL. I’d taken this bus before and it is comfortable. The seat is actually wider than Aeroline bus (the first class bus that’s suppose to be as good as flying) — more on that later.

They served a bottle of mineral water and a box with a “kaya” bun inside. The movie they showed wasn’t interesting. I didn’t even bother watching. The bus stopped once during the 6 hrs journey.

We reached KL at 4 am! The bus stopped opposite Berjaya Times Square and from there we took a cab to Corus Hotel. We paid 25 ringgit as we forgot to bargain :) We couldn’t check in our room this early, so we waited at my parents’ room. Mum was already awake and we spent the next couple of hours chatting. This is a view from my parent’s room. We could see a teeny tiny part of the Petronas Tower too. It’s actually 5 minutes walk away from the hotel.

The hotel gym opened at 8 am and I decided to workout.

I did a short interval run on the treadmill.

Then it was breakfast time!

I had a fruit plate, followed by eggs, vegetable curry and yoghurt. The curry was not nice.

We could only check in at 2pm, we needed to kill the time, so we headed to China Town for foot reflexology.

And at 2 pm we finally checked into our hotel room! Our room (Paradise Cabana) was on the 2nd floor with a balcony and with quick access to the swimming pool. They forgot to give us a complimentary heart-shaped cake!! — or maybe those heart-shaped pillows were for us? :P I totally forgot about the free cake until I came back to Singapore! :D

After checking in, I brought my parents, aunt, uncle and cousin to Bukit Bintang and from 2pm till 11 pm they shopped. Oh my … one hour in just one shoe shop. I waited. Waited and … waited. I am not a shopping person! I was dead tired by the time we reached our hotel. I showered and slept immediately. I didn’t even hear the husband going out to buy back some late night snacks.

The next day
… to be continued

Not eating the egg yolks? :P
I really like the hotel room especially the bed. It gives out exotism ^^
I’ve always wanted to go to KL for shopping. Heard that the prices are good. There’s still this special offer from Air Mauritius. Air tickets to Sg and KL are at Rs 16,000 taxes inclusive till October. I want to go in mid-October but I’m still not sure. Lash already went to Sg in June and he doesn’t know yet if he’ll come with me if I decide to go in October >.<

@ Angele
Nope, I don’t like yolks :P
I think the KL annual sales will be over by KL mid-October. SG’s Great Singapore Sales is ending in 3 more days. Some things are cheaper in KL. (depends where you shop). I didn’t really shopped when I went to KL. If not for shopping, I think SG is boring esp. if you’ve been here before!
Maybe there will be other promo by Air Mauritius next year?
