A trip to Mustafa Centre
Happy Sunday everyone! We have a pretty sad weather today. We can’t see the sun at all. It was raining earlier and as we were taking down the laundry from the balcony, the rain became heavier and the wind stronger. It was a mess — the balcony got wet, the curtains flew in all directions and my clothes got all wet again! Hmnp

Don’t you find something wrong with my screen display?

Right. My screen turned upside down the other day after pressing the wrong buttons! I thought that my LCD screen was spoilt! After googling around, I found the solution to turning it back to the upright position! Simply press ctrl + Alt + Up arrow!! :)

I took this picture on Saturday and then we were off to Mustafa Centre, the shopping mall that never sleeps! Yeah it is the one and only shopping center in Singapore that operates 24 hours a day.
On the way …

We did a big mistake going there on a Saturday! The place was jam packed and I could hardly move about. I only went to the 2nd floor i.e the supermarket where I spent over 70 minutes looking at each section. I seldom go to Mustafa mainly because the location isn’t that convenient. We spent over $40 just on transport! That’s more than what we spent there lol.

I didn’t know I could find vanilla beans at Mustafa! They only had organic ones, going for $3.50 (for 2 beans). Well I bought some of course!

And I walked out with a couple of stuffs.

Here’s what I got for about $35:
- Cheezee cheese instant noodle. What’s this? I’ve never tried this and that’s why I bought it lol
- Medium Masala Papadum. The last time I bought papadum was more than a year ago!
- Pumpkin waffle pancake mix. I don’t know why I bought this. I guess because I saw pumpkin and I wanted to try it?
- Turkish Pomgranate Tea. Again, I have never tried this before.
- Jalapeno pepper.
- Tosai mix.
- Kulfi. This is a pre-mixed and I have to add milk. I don’t know whether it’s good or not! I doubt the taste will be like the kind of Kulfi in Mauritius!
- Fresh dill
- Lady fingers.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday! I’m watching Chef at Home — Chef Michael Smith is making some delicious stuffs!
PS: It’s raining again! I should join the husband for a nap. He slept the whole day and only woke up for lunch hahaha. Sunday is definitely supposed to be like that right :)

mustafa centre would be the last place i’ll ever thought of going haha. then again $3.50 for 2 vanilla pods is cheap, what more they’re organic. phoon huat is selling at $4 for 2 sticks, unless u buy a pack of 10 at $10, then it will be $1 ea :D btw, are these the madagascar ones?
and i love chef at home, esp his pantry!! i also like license to grill, and cookworks :D

@ Evan
I didn’t see other organic stuffs at Mustafa. So I was rather surprised when I saw these there! They didn’t have the normal ones, only organic ones! And there were plenty! I will check where they come from later.
I don’t quite like “License to grill”, maybe because I don’t have a nice BBQ grill like his!! He’s a funny guy eh. Chef Michael Smith is one of my favorites. His dishes are simple and on the healthy side :) Oh yeah, I love his pantry too!!! “Cookworks” is also fun to watch. Can learn some basic techniques :)

Ahh you got yourself vanilla pods :P You can make creme brulée now! Hehehe.
The vanilla pods you bought are quite fat. The ones I saw in Mauritius are sooo thin! Almost like they’re sick and frail. Hahahaaa. Really not worth the price :\
