New York New York

Last night we dined in at New York New York

I had a mushroom sandwich without the cheese and the husband had a medium rare steak

Dessert was waffle!

We dropped by Carrefoure afterwards and I saw a Bluesky Waffle Maker (those that make heart shape thin waffles) going for only S$9.90! I grabbed one immediately although I would have preferred a Belgian Waffle Maker i.e those that make thicker waffles like the picture above :) I still have some left-over Buttermilk from last time, so I’m going to make some waffles either tonight or tomorrow!

I bought a packet of Pasta Rigate too because I am planning to make something special with that! We came back home at around 10 pm and I went to bed straight away as I was pretty tired. I’m trying to sleep at this time every weekdays.

Tonight I’m BBQ-ing. Thank God it’s Friday!!!

You finally bought your waffle maker! I think yours is just like my waffle iron ’cause mine makes heart shaped waffles too. I’ll make waffles for brunch this Sunday I think or maybe hotcakes. Haven’t decided yet.

You use buttermilk for your waffle batter?

Yeah yours is the same as mine except the brand :) Yes we can also use buttermilk instead of milk in waffles. And I gotta finish my leftover buttermilk too.

Take some pic after you’ve made some!

    Nice toaster!

Here’s a tip to ease cleaning, if the plates are not removable, use greaseproof paper between the plates and the waffles.

Will the waffles still get their “grid-like” look on top and bottom if using greaseproof paper between the plates and the waffles? After my first use, the cleaning was quite easy even though I had totally forgotten to add butter or oil to the waffle batter as well as spray the waffle iron with oil or butter! Maybe because it is new and the non-stick layer is still there hehe.

Yes, the grill lines will still appear — what are waffles worth without the lines :) I use this tip when I toast my sandwich in the office. Just don’t scrub the teflon off if you want to keep the plates non-stick :-)

only S$9.90 ? That’s so cheap! Was that the usual price or maybe it was on promotion?

  8. admin Says:

Yes that’s a real good deal isn’t it. A few months ago it was going for $15 (promotion price too). I’m not sure about its original price … but it can’t be more than $25 I think …

I’ll try to find it next time I go to Carrefour. :)
