Homemade pesto sauce

I had 2 packets of left over basil leaves in my fridge. So I made some pesto sauce instead of waiting for them to dry and rot. Ahhhh pesto sauce is nice!! It goes well with pasta. I’ve frozen them in ice cubes so that I can keep them longer and use them anytime I need to.

Here’s the recipe

Ingredients

  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 2 cups fresh basil leaves
  • 3 tablespoons walnuts or pine nuts
  • 1 dash salt and pepper
  • 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil

Method

Just mix all the ingredients in a food processor. If you want to consume the sauce immediately, then add in some parmesan cheese. Else, if you want to freeze them, you can add the cheese when you are about to consume it.
