Hi Carine,
I am writing to let you know that one of your photos has been short-listed for inclusion in the third edition of our Schmap Chattanooga Guide, to be published early October 2007.
The photo that they’ve short-listed is one that I took during my 2006 holidays in Mauritius.
Can you guess where this was taken?
Yeah it was at Signal mountain (Mauritius)! But I think they have got the wrong Signal mountain because Chattanooga, which is located in Southeast Tennessee in the States, has also a place called Signal Mountain! haha.
Anyway, I miss Signal mountain! Used to go there pretty often back in Mauritius. It’s a nice place to spend some quiet time by yourself. I miss running up to the top! 3 yrs ago I could run up (and walk down) like 2-3 times (yes no kidding) almost non-stop but when I went back in 2006, I could barely run till the top lol.
Signal Mountain is 323 meters high. From the summit of Signal mountain you have a spectacular view of Port-Louis, not only Port-Louis but even to Gunner`s Quoin island. I would suggest that you bring your binoculars along with you to map out the most important locations. Normally vehicles are not allowed to climb up the mountain. The only road to the summit of Signal mountain is dedicated to pedestrians. To reach the summit, it will normally take you some 45 minutes. (Source)

damn! it has been a long time since i have been there! almost 4 years now…
