La vie est belle

I’m partly to be blamed for that! You see, yesterday I went to the pet shop to buy cat litter. And I decided to get a new type of litter, the non-clay type. I’ve been thinking of switching from clay to non-clay cat litter for quite some time already because clay litter generally generates lots of dust. In addition, the clay particles tend to cling to your cat’s fur and in-between their toes and breathing these particles can cause respiratory infections.

So I came back home with a brand new type of litter. I cleaned Mikey’s litterbox and filled it with the newly bought litter. Mikey came over, sniffed here and there. He looked a little confused. At half past ten, he still hasn’t used his litterbox. He slept quietly at one corner of my bed. I felt bad … The pet shop was already closed and I didn’t have the old type of litter.

The next day i.e this morning, I woke up at 6.30am, fed Mikey and went out for a jog. I came back an hour and a half later to see you-know-what on the blue carpet. Actually I did not see anything at first glance (Mikey had covered his poo with the carpet). But the smell … awww…. the smell …. what a pungent smell!

I scolded Mikey and showed him his mess! He knew that he had done something wrong. He remained quiet and looked at me with remorseful and innocent eyes. Awww I couldn’t scold him anymore. So I hugged him!! haha.

I’m gonna buy the clay litter type tonight. I will mix the clay and non-clay together until Mikey gets used to the non-clay litter. Hope this will work.
